⚖️ The A-Bomb Tribunal : The Second International Forum (June 2024, Hiroshima)
We are currently undertaking a project to organize a International People's Tribunal, scheduled to be held in 2026, to determine the illegality of the United States' atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
In preparation for this significant event, we have been holding preliminary debates to develop the legal framework. The First International Forum took place in June 2023 in Hapcheon, South Korea, and the Second International Forum will be held in June 2024 in Hiroshima, Japan.
The second international forum is planned with the aim of consoling Korean A-bomb victims by clarifying the historical significance of the United States' use of nuclear weapons and the illegality of current and potential nuclear weapon use, as well as extended deterrence. It seeks to overcome nuclear confrontation and deterrence theory, and to find a path towards the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the realization of a nuclear-free world🕊
