The Organizing Committee of the A-Bomb Tribunal (International People’s Tribunal) has submitted its input to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in response to the Human Rights Council’s request for a follow-up report on the nuclear legacy of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Following OHCHR’s report on the nuclear legacy of the Marshall Islands (A/HRC/57/77), the Human Rights Council, through resolution A/HRC/RES/57/26, requested the preparation of a second report addressing the challenges and barriers to the full realization and enjoyment of the human rights of the people of the Marshall Islands stemming from the State’s nuclear legacy. The report will be presented to the Human Rights Council at its sixty-third session.

In response to this call for input, the Organizing Committee of the A-Bomb Tribunal submitted its contribution at the request of Raphael Pangalangan, Human Rights Officer at OHCHR. The submission has been officially received and published on the OHCHR website under “Inputs Received.”

The document was jointly prepared by Solidarity for Peace and Reunification of Korea (SPARK) and Brad Wolf of the U.S. Organizing Committee of the International People’s Tribunal (IPT).
