Co-Chairs

U-Il Kang

Former Bishop of the Jeju Diocese of the Catholic Church. He has been at the forefront of efforts for truth-seeking and reconciliation regarding the Jeju April 3 Uprising, advocating for the United States to take accountability for the circumstances leading to the Uprising, opposing the construction of the naval base in Gangjeong, and supporting the Korean atomic bomb victims. He has dedicated himself to activities promoting justice and peace.


Takashi Hiraoka  

Former Mayor of Hiroshima. As a journalist, he was the first to bring attention to the issue of Korean atomic bomb victims in Japanese society. In 1995, he testified at the International Court of Justice regarding the inhumanity of nuclear weapons.



John C. Wester 

The twelfth Archbishop of Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. In 2022, he published a pastoral letter criticizing the immorality of nuclear deterrence strategies and nuclear weapons. He has been actively engaged in efforts for nuclear disarmament and denuclearization.

SPARK is a grassroots movement organization established in 1994, during a time of heightened tension on the Korean Peninsula, following the spirit of the Korean peace movement. SPARK is committed to five core values: sovereignty, peace, reunification, denuclearization, and disarmament.

Brad Wolf

A lawyer and former prosecutor, is director of Peace Action Network of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and co-coordinates the Merchants of Death War Crimes Tribunal. His new book on the writings of Philip Berrigan is entitled “A Ministry of Risk” and was published April 2 by Fordham University Press. Brad writes for numerous publications.
